People I'll Admit Knowing

Music

Music has always been one of my passions. I listen to everything from medieval up through rock and roll. Unfortunately, modern music often seems rather bland to me; there's very little emotional intensity, so I'll usually listen to it when I'm busy doing something else. Here are a few links to some of "The Good Stuff."
  • If fine music is new to you, check out Music History 102, one of the exhibits at the Internet Public Library.
  • Dr. Douglas Bell has created a very good reference to Classical Music on the Net.
  • And there's a very good Beginners Guide to the greatest musical genius who ever lived.
  • For a good overview of early music (gothic, medieval, etc.) NetSERF's medieval music page is the place to go.
  • Enya is one of the best musicians alive today. Her official homepage seems to have disappeared, but there's a great unofficial site called Angeles.
  • Loreena McKennitt is another artist producing music with strong Celtic and medieval roots.
  • For contemporary Christian music, check out the Vineyard Music site.
  • If that's not hot enough for you, try Petra.
  • Or really go wild with Saviour Machine. Yes Virginia, there is such a thing as Christian goth.
